Among the biggest reasons is to avoid risk of lawsuits if somebody is injured. Second, accidents cut down on working time. Thirdly, merchandise and property can be damaged during mishaps. The majority of mishaps are attributed to workers who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that workers who are using the forklift are correctly trained in risks and safety. Never let anybody on a forklift who isn't properly trained to utilize the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a location which is visible all forklift safety measures.
Rather than going through training because workers are required to, they should have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help staff know the importance of correct training. Let them know that they could injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your workers go through training seriously.
