Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
There are especially made lift trucks which operate in narrow warehouse aisles. These machines are normally referred to as narrow aisle or very narrow aisle lift trucks. They could easily negotiate smaller aisles and enable you to enjoy several benefits. For example, the increased amount of area to store stuff could really increase a company's overall available inventory.

Narrow aisle forklifts are able to maneuver easily also. These equipment have been particularly designed to move without much space. Their different design has eliminated many of the things which are squished up into the design of the traditional lift truck's main body.

The downside of narrow aisle forklifts is that they are really slow compared to regular lift trucks. Narrow aisle lift trucks would not work if you need to transport objects across large distances. In terms of speed they would not be a dependable alternative. If you also have a standard lift truck, this would not be an issue. You can simply use the narrow aisle forklift to transport the load to a central place and then hand it off to a regular forklift which could travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient way. Frequently, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; hence, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be very useful.

Electric Forklifts
For indoor operations like stores or inside warehouses, conventional gas forklifts are not a suitable option. They will not be as safe because of their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful than an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are normally engineered to look and work a lot like gas ones, but they rely on electric batteries which must be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.

The electrically powered lift truck has become more popular and for a range of reasons. These machines can help companies save expenses on fuel. Electric units will first cost more, but would eventually save you more over time. Like for instance, when gas prices increase, you would not be affected and would save lots of cash. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered units too. This is partly because of the fact they are mainly utilized inside and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered units. Electric models are healthier to utilize in badly ventilated places like warehouses and indoor operations since they don't emit noxious fumes. It can be really dangerous to utilize gas or diesel lift trucks inside.

Among the main downsides to electric forklifts is the fact they can generally just work for one 8 hour shift before the battery needs to be charged for another shift. Many companies get around this situation by buying a spare battery so they can continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market that are also minimizing the charging time.
