Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The particular design of the cab comes as a result of extensive study into the operators working conditions. The main goal is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, so as to keep the operator working as efficiently as he or she could.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all individually adjustable as a way to maintain an optimum working position. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and easy to operate levers which are provided for gear changing, windscreen wipers, the window washers and horn.
To guarantee a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machine has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The standard instruments which include: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
One of the important options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be outfitted with is the ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring. This enables for easy supervision of the model. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors which take place and their current values.
