A type of device in the material handling industry that could be utilized to lift and transport loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Each part of a forklift has a specific function. Various parts could be used to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The components utilized to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts for raising loads to various heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
There are four various ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is located on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is under the rear of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is situated in the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The steering wheel, gas pedal, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated in the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest components of the forklift, including the counterweights, which are situated at the rear so as to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
