Types of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. These equipments can turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks work in less than 6 feet places and usually utilize particular guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks include Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular models in compact retail spaces and in some warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks can work in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are often utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is big and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more effective while limiting fatigue.
